My walk took place starting in the Riverwest portion of Milwaukee, Wi and walked me all the way to the UWM campus and beyond. Here is my drift map. By looking at the map you can see that I walked for quite some distance, taking random turns throughout this portion of the city. Each turn, in fact was completely random.

This walk, in fact, was actually the third of my attemps for the walk. My first walk was halted after discovering partway through tthe walk that my soldering job was faulty. That walk took place on North Avenue to around the Brady Street Area. My second walk took place in Whitefish Bay, around the Bayshore Mall Area. It was a good walk and I had some decent sounds. Unfortunately, I forgot that pressing stop resets the manual gain setting on the mini disc player. Curse you Sony for making such a non user friendly recording device (and curse you for developing an equally irritating and incompatible program to go with it while we're at it). So that brings us to walk number three-Rivewest to Eastside. I decided that it should be a nighttime walk; my intent was to find crickets. This walk also had it's share of problems just like the other walks, unfortunately. My last file on my minidisc player was deleted, ommitting some rather interesting sounds. That is why, although my walking through campus is on the map, there are no sounds from there or after it.
Now, as far as the strategy goes it was a rather simple one. I brought a die with me, like one used for board games. at my whim, from anywhere between on block or three, I threw the die. If the number was a one or a two I would go right, a five or six cast me left, and three and four drew me forward. I would like to mention, breifly, the strategy for my first drift. I thought it was kind of cool. I went on the walk with my girlfriend. Something about finding new and undiscovered places seems in appropriate unless you are sharing it with someone else. Anyhow, the walk that I did with her, the one with the faulty microphone, was determined by playing rock paper scissors. When we came to the end of each block and played rock paper scissors. If I won, we took a right turn. If she won (which she never does...just kidding) we went went left. Ties meant that we continued forward. Both strategies were kind of fun. I like them both and recommet them both. If you are by yourself bring a die or a coin, but if you have company make a game out of it.
